A revelation

I've played golf long enough to remember when woods were the only woods but was seduced by the technology of the very forgiving metal versions and the large sweet spot which I have been using happily for many years. Seeing the advert for the Persimmon drivers I decided to buy one probably out of nostalgia. When the club arrived it is certainly a thing of beauty and some swings in my garden showed the fine balance of the club. After hitting a few balls in the nets I took it out on the course and to be honest I did not expect it to be as good as my existing driver but what a revelation! From my first drive the distance was longer and what was a surprise was the consistency far better meaning improved scoring. I highly recommend this club and will buying a fairway wood next.

When you place your order:

Modern Day Performance

There are few sounds as sweet as the crack of a well struck drive with a high quality, handmade persimmon driver.

Use one of our beautifully crafted drivers and you’ll find they are competitive off the tee, allowing you to shape the ball with great control and distance, and no vibration. The gear effect means that you’ll find it easier to work the ball - and shots struck on the toe or heel will find their way back onto the fairway.

Our drivers are a joy to hit, feel phenomenal and deliver exceptional performance.

From Tree to Green

The journey starts with the persimmon tree, grown in the central States of America and long-recognised as the most perfect material for the finest drivers, fairway woods and putters. Only the best persimmon blocks are selected from a family-run sawmill, cut to size, then installed in the turning lathe to produce 3/4 copies of the master head.

Enter Charlie and his fellow craftsmen, who commence by skilfully cutting for, then installing the sole-plate, face insert and aluminium ferrule. Meticulous sanding, line-cut scoring and staining is followed by several applications of a clear protective coating to complete the finished head. Throughout a process over several weeks, each head will have been hand-touched in excess of 200 times before the final rigorous quality inspection.

What the press say

GOLF PUNK

Voted 'Most Wanted'. With its 240cc head, it is much more forgiving than a traditional persimmon wood, yet it retains the sweet sound and feel that only persimmon can offer.

NATIONAL CLUB GOLFER

I caught my first attempt right out of the screw and experienced a feel I'd forgotten existed in golf. With a bit of skill, these clubs can make the ball go round corners. Hit one out of the meat and it will go as well as your best shot with a 460cc titanium.
