INDEPENDENT TEST – FAIRWAY WOODS
National Club Golfer – September 06

A total of 17 fairway woods were tested, including the latest from Taylormade, Ping, Srixon, Wilson, Ben Hogan and Mizuno. Points were awarded according to looks, feel, quality, value and overall performance. Predictably, our woods scored 10/10 for feel, the only product to score a maximum in any category. Overall, the points ranged from 70 to 87 – our clubs scored 85 with only two manufacturers scoring marginally higher. To quote from the test 'When struck well, it's hard to see why the better player would ever discard a Persimmon fairway wood in favour of a metal-headed version. The flight is low and powerful, the feel is sensational and you can genuinely control the shape of the shot.'

INDEPENDENT TEST – P3 PUTTER
National Club Golfer – October 06

Alongside their range of gorgeous woods are some similarly classical putters. It's a completely different feel to using a metal head, but if you like that hand-crafted feel and are prepared to get used to it you'll find the delightful feedback is well worth the effort

The Professionals

Both clubs are fantastic and within a week I am very attached to them. They look like a proper golf club and the performance is better than any fairway wood I've owned before. I regularly use the 3 wood off both the tee and fairway and the 5 wood is awesome!

ANDY NORMAN, PGA GOLF PROFESSIONAL

Sensational! It looks brilliant and I can now get a great draw and really shape my shots with this club. The overall performance is exceptional.

The Customers

The clubs certainly are well made, and look superb…. I was very pleased with the performance of the clubs, the driver is extremely powerful and goes superbly well, having that nice second ‘kick’ in flight, which is always a good sign of a well-balanced club…. I shall certainly recommend your clubs to others as they deserve a wider audience.
I had never made our long 18th in two until I acquired my Persimmon Golf woods. I achieved this first time out with my 2 wood off the tee and 5 wood second shot….. bloody marvellous!
I thought your clubs looked great, but could never have believed the difference they have made to my game. I am now making greens that used to be beyond my reach, and achieving shots that I would never have attempted. My golfing colleagues are amazed at the improvement in my game. These are fabulous clubs!
I used my fairway wood for the first time at the weekend. I’d just hit a poor drive into longish rough, and thought I’d put the launch qualities of my 4 wood to the test. The ball flew some 220 yards, finishing in the centre of the green. Considering the lie, this was, for me, a shot I would never previously have thought possible.
Congratulations! A winning combination… they turned heads both on and off the course. Impressive would be an understatement… cracking shots from good and bad lies.

Christine went on to play magnificently with your clubs. I don't think she duffed a drive the whole time and her confidence with the fairways just got better and better. Really amazing as she hated hitting her previous Callaway woods off the deck! Three things amongst all the gems really confirmed she had made the right choice;

  1. A drive that carried 245 yards in calm conditions
  2. A drive of  190 yards directly into the teeth of a 20mph onshore "breeze"
  3. One particular par 5 hole over 500 yards that she hated on the above windy day was reached with a drive and 2 cracking fairway woods. The 2nd of which was hit blind over a mound guarding the green to land softly and hold in the middle.

All of these hit with her soft draw that she lost when she changed to metal woods. To say that she is now a firm convert would be the same as saying Steve Redgrave paddles about a bit!

Thank you for the 5# wood – you said it would perform but I am really amazed. I am not a good player, in fact rather poor, but first time out with the club I was hitting shots as never before, and it has only got better.
The clubs are better than we could have dreamed of ; top quality components, finely crafted wood and beautifully assembled. Not a flaw to be seen anywhere. I thought craftsmanship like that died years ago. Even my old persimmon clubs from 25 years ago would take back seat to what we have received today. To do all this at the price you charge, little more than that of a club manufactured in a 3rd world country and then glued together in the USA, that in itself is a miracle! It does a Scot proud to know the game we gave the world still has clubmakers prepared to make a traditional item albeit with a modern "twist"   I have only one complaint, your brochure and website just don't do the clubs justice, they have to be seen to be believed.
